Mindy Zhong

Mindy is a registered clinical counsellor offering counselling and psychotherapy to children, youth, young adults, and families. Her educational credentials include an undergraduate degree in Child and Adolescent Development as well as two masters level degrees, a Master of Special Education and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.

For over ten years Mindy has employed a unique approach to her passion of supporting others to address challenges, gain new perspectives,

and make positive changes in their lives. Working alongside her clients and families Mindy emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship as she utilizes a person-centred approach to customize treatment plans. Mindy has a strong background in helping children and youth with special needs in social and emotional development as well as vocational development for young adults. She incorporates evidence based and holistic approaches by combining applied behaviour analysis into counselling and psychotherapy. Mindy has a special interest in supporting clients and families affected by autism. She recognizes the mental health challenges experienced by individuals with autism and how these challenges often interfere with various aspects of life. Her areas of specialty include anxiety, physical and emotional outbursts, self-harming behaviour, depression, as well as adjustment difficulties. lationships they are so trapped in; sometimes cleaning up their wounds and spending the hard healing period with them; sometimes pulling away the stones that hold the seedlings down so that they can enjoy growing. Seeing people who I have helped could face life with a new look makes me happy the most. Their lives may not be less difficult because of counselling, but they will certainly have more courage and ways to walk towards it.
